Jake Wood

Jake Wood is a cofounder and chief executive officer of Team Rubicon, a nonprofit disaster response organization that utilizes the skills of veterans to deploy emergency response teams. Since the organization’s founding in 2010, Team Rubicon has responded to more than 230 disasters and grown from eight to 75,000 volunteers. Prior to Team Rubicon, Wood served four years in the United States Marine Corps. He served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and earned numerous commendations, including the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Valor distinguishing device. A leading veterans’ advocate, he briefed former president Barack Obama, met with former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, and has testified before a Senate committee about mental care services for veterans.
